  • Figuring out Forgiveness
  • By God’s design, the wounds of the heart need intimate, loving care in order to properly heal. The Bible teaches that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalms 34:18) Figuring Out Forgiveness is a lifeline that will help the hurting find much needed comfort for their broken hearts. Often in today’s world, heart wounds are neglected and therefore become infected with bitterness. Once the Lord properly binds the wounds of the brokenhearted (Psalms 147:3), only then can we find true deliverance from bitterness and the courage to forgive.
  • Rahab - what do I have in common with her?
  • This is the ultimate rags to riches story. Rahab goes from being famous for her profession, to famous for her faith. Her life teaches us that it truly doesn’t matter what kind of past we’ve had. When we choose to live by faith God can accomplish amazing things in our lives. He can take the most immoral person and completely transform them. No one else has the power to redeem and restore us like God can.
  • Am I a dyslexic Christian?
  • My oldest daughter has always struggled with mixing up words. One of her most amusing mix-ups happened just days after we had had our first “good touch/bad touch” talk. I had read that it was best to use the proper names when talking about private parts - so that’s what I did. A few days later as I was preparing her favorite meal she announced with excitement, “Mommy made my favorite dinner…vagina!” In truth, it was lasagna that was baking in the oven but there was no convincing my little girl that she had in fact mixed up her words. Throughout dinner she entertained us with her non-stop declaration of love for this – her favorite food. “I just love lasagna! Lasagna’s my favorite! May I please have some more of this delicious lasagna?” Only she wasn’t saying Lasagna. That memory has become one of our family favorites. And over the years God has revealed that in many ways I do the same thing that my sweet little daughter used to do. I can read something in Scripture and some
  • Caring for the Brokenhearted
  • As Christians, sometimes we don't know how to support and encourage others when they've been hurt. In my own life, many of my sisters in Christ gave me well-meaning, but hurtful advice when I was heartbroken by my husband's betrayal. Let's learn how to be loving, supportive and encouraging in helping each other through difficult times!
  • Forgiving God?
  • All things happen for a reason, right? Who's to blame when bad things happen to us? It feels like a sin to even admit it, but sometimes we feel betrayed by God and harbor resentment against Him. Let's discover through the example of David, that it's ok to express ourselves to God in a real way - and restore our relationship to Him!
  • Support and Encourage
  • It's so easy to be a 'fixer'. For all of us, when we are hurt, we gravitate towards the people who are most supportive and encouraging. Learn how to be the special friend who knows how to support and encourage when your loved ones are dealing with life's inevitable pain.
